There are some people who were born to do their jobs and Laura Hartman, owner of La Cave a Vin in Exeter is truly one of them.  When Laura first opened her doors in 2003, my first thought was "Darn, she stole my idea of opening a wine shop in Exeter."  However, I soon learned that Laura was far more knowledgeable than I, and that she could describe a bottle of wine in such a way that you couldn't pass it up.  She's great at pairing wines with dinner menus.  In addition to wine, she has all the ecoutrements like glassware, stoppers, etc.  She also sells wonderful cheeses and pate', spices from around the world and great gift items. See her website to learn about her wine tasting classes--a great activity for the winter doldrums.
